Soma
There is no creation in the human being without the soma.
Not a single process of creation can be brought through human expression without involving the body.
After meditating, dive deep into the soma, into the black warmth of the body.
What is alive today?
What is born today?
What wants to be moved today?
As much as possible, letting things be as they are, transform as they transform, not trying to change anything. Let things move.
Positioning & sustainability
There is always a position that makes it easier, more sustainable to be in relation with whatever we come into contact with.
For a period I have been working towards forming a sustainable artistic discipline. I am looking for a sustainable practice and a good position.
Overextended effort is neither.
The aspect of positioning oneself in the best possible way in relation to whatever we come into contact with is a skill that we can attend to.
Integration
Integrating starts with taking a deep look into one’s daily habits and tendencies.
It is easier to pair a new habit with an old one than try to sustain a new one by itself alone.
On creation
Remembering that if I need to buy or acquire something in order to create, I am being led astray.
It is not really about that.
One already possesses what it takes to create.
What has life
This is the folk principle: The viable ones stay and are passed on to the next practitioner. This is how the myths and poems and songs have survived across generations.
I practice this with melodies, visions, ideas, leads. The ones full of life will stay with me, even if I don’t immediately record or write them down.
It is an intimidating way of composing but it has its pros as well.
Less clutter.
On ritual & spell
On a ritual level, crafting the score is crafting the basis of the ritual and also braiding the roots into the past.
The performance is “casting the spell”, the now of the piece.
What lives in the people the piece gets into contact with and how it influences the world is the future aspects.
The spell only works if enough people will carry the poem and the myth in their bodies [bones] and pass it forward however they will. This is the way.
On protection
There are things that cannot be generated by machines, such as embodied feeling and knowing.
This is the protection in this era. Deep discernment.
Relating
If it’s not born how can I talk about it?
If I can talk about it, I am already in relation to it.
